Thanks! :) That gave me a perfect kick in the right direction. Hiding buttons/action with formulas to check for a users role seems to be pretty straightforward and the best way to do it.

Btw.: the assumption about their environment are wrong. I think they know perfectly what they are doing. But the person who made the proposal to do it in this way is no domino admin but a sales manager who wants this addon. I'm no domino dev, too. I just needed to answer the question for the best practice to do this.
